What a wild ride this was!
Alexandra did a truly fantastic job of writing this story!
Silver in the bone follows our mane character Tamsin Lark a hollower (or treasure hunter/relic finder for the benefit of those of you who have not read the book.
As she attempts to uncover what happened to her father and search for a cure for her brothers curse.
This books is the first in a contemporary fantasy duology based in Arthurian legends and taking inspiration from Celtic mythology which if you know me at all you will know that’s one of my favourite sub genres!
I really enjoyed this book, starting off it was a little slow but well worth it when you get further in.
The characters are well developed and extremely human, it’s really easy to feel for them and I was constantly mentally (and verbally) yelling at them for a grate many reasons.
I loved the banter between Tamsin and Emrys. Banter is truly my downfall in a book and this one was no different, the constant jabs back and fourth where its obvious they like each other but are both so oblivious to the others feelings, it was the best thing!
The plotting of this story was amazing, I’m usually the kind of person who can see a twist coming a mile away, but even I was completely stumped until it all came crashing down in the last 150 pages. I would say more but I don’t wish to spoil anything for first time readers.
I will say this though: book one is very much a set up for book two. A lot of things were unearthed in the last chapters and you will definitely need to read the second one to find out what happens. I’m currently about 5% through and it is already shaping up to be even crazier of a ride than book one was.
I would suggest looking up trigger warnings for this book, if you’re someone who is sensitive to blood and gore in relatively small doses. There are some not very nice demons you should be wary of.

happy reading
